Schedule Details

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Morning:

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) to maximize your time in the Maasai Mara.

Stop for breakfast en route at a local restaurant or café.

Continue the scenic drive toward the Maasai Mara, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way.

Lunch:

Arrive at your chosen Hyrax safari lodge or camp in the Maasai Mara around noon.

Check-in and enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge.

Afternoon:

After a short rest, embark on your first game drive in the Maasai Mara with your experienced safari guide.

Explore the vast savannah, keeping an eye out for the diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species.

As the sun begins to set, witness the incredible Maasai Mara sunset and capture stunning photographs.

Dinner:

Return to your lodge or camp for a well-deserved dinner.

Share stories of your wildlife encounters around the campfire, if available, or at the lodge's dining area.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive

Early Morning:

Wake up before sunrise to make the most of your second day in the Maasai Mara.
Have a quick breakfast, and then head out for a morning game drive. This is the ideal time to spot predators as they are most active during the cooler hours of the day.

Mid-Morning:
Take a break from the game drive for a picnic breakfast in the park. Enjoy the serene surroundings and listen to the sounds of the African bush.

Late Morning to Afternoon:
Continue your game drive, exploring different areas of the Maasai Mara to increase your chances of seeing a wide range of wildlife.

Visit the Mara River, where you might witness the famous wildebeest migration (seasonal).

Lunch:
Return to your lodge or camp for lunch and some relaxation during the hottest part of the day.

Take advantage of any amenities the lodge offers, such as a swimming pool or spa.

Afternoon:
In the afternoon, embark on your final game drive, covering areas you haven't explored yet.

Evening:
Return to your lodge or camp to freshen up and prepare for your journey back to Nairobi.

Dinner:
Enjoy a farewell dinner at your accommodation, reminiscing about your Maasai Mara adventure.

What to Bring
  1. Comfortable Hiking Boots: Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots with good traction to navigate uneven terrain. A size bigger is recommended.
